Diaries and exercise!

When you’re dieting I think the two most important things to remember to do are to keep a diary and begin regular exercise because dieting is as much about understanding your body as anything else because if you know what foods fill you up and you enjoy, and those which just make you feel worse about yourself, then you can easily make changes to maximize your diet with minimal effort. To do this most easily you should create a food and exercise diary which can hold all of your diet information and act as a bit of a log of what worked and what didn’t work. You can also include a little indication of how you felt on each day so that you don’t make the same mistakes you did in the past and in that way you can consistently improve your diet so that it continues to fill your needs into the future.
Plus, in terms of indicators of success of a diet, the amount you exercise is right up there in terms of accuracy. By exercising three to five times a week for thirty minutes or so you’ll get a number of benefits. For example, you’ll increase your calorie output which will make it easier to lose weight as you can be slightly loser in the way you diet and control your intake. On top of that exercise is fantastic about building up your metabolism which means that you start to burn more calories generally, meaning that that fat starts to shed away much faster. If that weren’t enough, exercising will help to tone and build up muscle mass. This will make your body look better quickly by improving definition and again boost the amount of calories your body needs due to having to support more muscle mass!
So, keep a note of what you eat, when, and how it makes you feel and also take note of how your weight varies over the same period so that you can see patterns and trends which might help you make changes in the future. Add to that a strong, enjoyable, exercise regime and there is no reason you can’t continue to lose a lot of weight in not too long a period of time!
