4 Quick Tips to Weight Loss

Use weekly weigh ins. If you’re weigh yourself every day all that happens is that you see fluctuations that have no rhyme or reason and end up in a depressive cycle of weighing and sporadic dieting which leads nowhere! The solution then is simple, set yourself a day each week when you weigh in and get a good, fair, consistent weight each week.

Drink 8 glasses a day! We all know that we have to drink more water, and we hear a lot being said about 8 glasses of water each day. Not only will that help you keep hydrated and therefore feel better, more aware and just generally healthier but also will fill you up, meaning you won’t need to keep snacking all the way through the day. This is an obvious bonus for all of us who are trying to lose weight dieting and so I’d advise it to anyone who wants to shed a few pounds here or there!

Use the weekends to take a break and relax from dieting! Dieting all day and night through the week can be a real drag, and maybe not initially, but after a few weeks you’ll be tired and frustrated of dieting and want to get a bit of a break on the weekends and this isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all. Having an occasionally candy bar or slight luxury such as a Starbucks on a Saturday will help you feel energized and not too constrained by your diet. Plus, you’ll be a bit more positive for the week ahead and be able to be nice an strict through the next five days!

Set yourself goals. In your job and in sports we always set ourselves goals to try and achieve which can help us to progress and reach our new levels and get the results we want and the same should be true in dieting and not just by setting really long term goals but also by looking for weekly and monthly targets to chase down which you will feel great. Plus targets will also keep you focused on eating the right stuff and doing the right things all the way through the diet and not take a sneaky chocolate bar too many here or there!

I think weight loss is all about three things – attitude, diet and exercise. From my experience, reducing carb intake and doing aerobic exercises are keys to successful weight loss.
