As part of DietNext, we are going to include some casestudies of real people, who need to lose weight. I am pleased to say that Joel, a young man who is trying to lose a little weight, has agreed to tell his story…
“Hi, I’m Joel. I am one of those overweight people who needs to diet and lose weight. As you know, dieting and losing weight is not easy but sharing my experiences will hopefully make it a bit easier. I am having the courage to tell all of you about my successes and my failures and I want to prove to myself that I can lose weight and achieve the body shape I want..
Alright, so how much weight do I want to lose and what am I planning to do to achieve it. I will give a brief introduction about myself. I’m just 21 years old this year. My height is around 171cm and my weight is around 77kgs. According to the BMI calculator, a normal person should have 18.5 – 24.9kgs/m but currently I am 26.3 kgs/m. My target would be BMI 20kgs/m.
I think the first thing to do is change my lifestyle. No more junk food, sweet drinks and more exercise and better sleep. I think this is first step and a must for someone who wants to lose weight.
Oh well, I plan to swimming tomorrow. According to the best information I can find, in order to burn your fat, you have to exercise at least more than 30mins. So I’ve decided to swim for 1 hour to 1 and half hours. Hope I can see some result after doing this for few weeks. Cheers Jen, and thanks for supporting me.”
We’ll see how Joel gets on in the next few weeks!
Love,
Jen x
